Peel and finely chop the onion. Cut the beets and crows into small pieces as well. Drain the herring fillets and cut into bite-sized pieces. Put in a bowl with the onion, beetroot and cucumber cubes. Mix sour cream with yogurt and vinegar and pour over the salad. Mix all ingredients together carefully.
Wash, peel and peel the apple. Cut the meat into small cubes and mix immediately into the salad so they don’t brown. Season the herring salad with salt and pepper and cool until ready to serve. Sprinkle with chopped dill before serving.
The salad tastes especially good when left to soak for a long time. Therefore it is best to prepare it 1-2 days in advance and keep it covered in the refrigerator. For a little more refinement, you can garnish the salad with hard-boiled eggs, cucumbers or roasted cubes of brown bread.
